16MM SOUND
GREAT PRINT ON EASTMAN SAFTEY FILM
ONE OF THE GREAT MOVIES OF THE 1950′S

THIS IS ONE OF THOSE FILMS THAT WILL NEVER GROW OLD — AND PEOPLE WILL NEVER GROW TIRED OF WATCHING.
IT IS SOOOOO GOOD ON SO MANY LEVELS.  THE STORY, ITSELF, IS INCREDIBLY WELL DONE.  THE ACTORS ARE PERFECT.  AND WHY DIRECTOR  BILLY WILDER DIDN’T WIN THE OSCAR IN 1953 FOR THIS FILM IS A MYSTERY — HE WAS NEVER BETTER.
OF COURSE, THIS IS THE FILM THAT THE TV SHOW ”HOGAN’S HEROS” WAS BASED UPON —- BUT TO WATCH THIS FILM AND THEN SEEING  AN EPISODE OF THE SHOW IS LIKE COMPARING MONET TO A FIRST GRADER’S SKETCH.   ”STALAG 17″ IS THE REAL DEAL!
WILLIAM HOLDEN IS THE SUPER CYNICAL SERGEANT WHO EVERYONE THINKS IS HELPING THE GERMANS WHO RUN THE PRISON CAMP.  IS HE OR ISN’T HE?  HE CERTAINLY IS ENOUGH OF A HEAL TO BE THE GUY, BUT STILL……
AND WHILE THAT STORY IS UNFOLDING, YOU GET TO WATCH THE DAY TO DAY LIFE IN THEIR GERMAN PRISON CAMP.  IT’S FUNNY, IT’S TOUGH, AND IT’S DANGEROUS.
THERE’S NOT AN FALSE NOTE IN THE WHOLE FILM.  I GUARANTEE NO ONE IN YOUR AUDIENCE WILL BE BORED.

THE FILM IS FRESH SO I AM SURE THAT THIS IS NOT MORE THAN 30 YEARS OLD  AND PROBABLY MORE LIKE 20.
FILM STOCK IS EASTMAN SAFTERY.  NO VINEGAR.
RUNNING TIME IS 120 MINUTES ON 4 — 1200′  REELS.
CONDITION:  16MM SOUND.  SHARP PRINT WITH GOOD CONTRAST AND VERY, VERY LITTLE WEAR.  I NOTICED ONE VERY QUICK SPLICE IN REEL #1 WHICH ONLY TOOK OUT A FRAME OR TWO.  IN REEL THREE THERE ARE TWO REPAIRS ON LIGHT RIPS THAT DO NOT TAKE OUT ANY FRAMES.  I NOTICED ONE SPLICE IN REEL 4 — ONCE AGAIN TAKING OUT JUST A FRAME OR TWO.
THIS IS ONE GREAT PRINT.

16mm film MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH David Bowie cult sci-fi

16mm film MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH David Bowie cult sci-fi

Buy Now

Current price:

$152

You are bidding on a 16mm film of the cult 1976 arthouse sci-fi classic THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH starring David Bowie, Rip Torn, Candy Clark and Buck Henry, written by Paul Mayersberg based on the book by Walter Tevis and directed by Nicolas Roeg. This is one of the top ten all-time greats of science fiction cinema here presented letterboxed to approx. 2.10:1 and in glorious Eastman LPP colour. Here’s a review of the movie:The Man Who Fell To Earth is one of the few sci-fi films that can justifiably call itself brilliant. But what makes it so brilliant, you ask? It’s certainly not the story, which is merely about an alien coming to earth in order to save his dying planet. The performances are excellent, but actors alone cannot make a film brilliant. Perhaps what makes The Man Who Fell To Earth brilliant is the thing that causes people to despise it: it has no plot. That’s right. It’s alot like a David Lynch movie; there are bizzare characters, bizzare dialogue, and bizzare situations, but barely any trace of a followable plot. The film manages to carry a thin story with almost no plot whatsoever and be consistently interesting and entertaining throughout. On top of that, it’s all stunningly photographed. There is quite a bit of sex in this movie, but the sex is done so stylistically we hardly notice how pornographic it is. For instance, in one scene near the end of the film, Bowie wields a pistol loaded with blanks like a phallus. The scene than erupts into a bizzare sex scene filled with flashing strobe lights, full frontal shots of Bowie, and the gun firing randomly off. The Man Who Fell To Earth is essential viewing(unless of course movies that are hard to follow or a naked David Bowie aren’t your thing). This movie will ship on two spools running at approx. 120mins. It is in very good condition. There is some minor wear and some base scratching that comes and goes, but nothing too distracting. Didn’t notice any splices or sprocket damage. Film is on low-fade Eastman LPP stock and letterboxed. Here’s your once in a lifetime chance to acquire a great print of one of the greatest science fiction films ever made.POSTAGE & PAYMENT: Within

16mm film – MARK OF THE VAMPIRE – classic horror Lugosi

16mm film - MARK OF THE VAMPIRE - classic horror Lugosi

Buy Now

Current price:

$15

You are bidding on a 16mm film print of the 1935 horror movie classic MARK OF THE VAMPIRE starring Bela Lugosi, Lionel Barrymore, Lionel Atwill, Carroll Borland and directed by Tod Browning. Here’s a review of the movie:In 1935 director Tod Browning set about the remaking of his 1927 silent Lon Chaney shocker LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT. The final result was rather an odd film for the MGM roster, but it benefited by being given the Studio’s first class production values and casting. It is a tremendously entertaining film to watch even now, full of chills & suspense. However, at a running time of barely one hour it has been obviously heavily edited. This does not help the already ludicrous plot, many of whose elements simply do not make the slightest sense. It is perhaps just as well to enjoy what the film does have to offer and not to harp about the incongruities of the storyline. The ending will come as a surprise to many viewers – some will be delighted at the turn of events, others will feel betrayed at the final fadeout. The cast is excellent. Lionel Barrymore is at his most eccentrically watchable as the elderly vampire stalker. And who could play the Undead better than Bela Lugosi? Although he speaks not a word until the final seconds of the film he is pure menace throughout, stalking along cobwebed corridors, associating with giant bats and radiating pure evil. Lionel Atwill as a stern police inspector and gentle Jean Hersholt as a befuddled baron complete the quartet of leading actors.Elizabeth Allan is lovely as the menaced young lady, while Carol Borland is properly mysterious as Lugosi’s vampiress. Various members of the supporting cast are allowed moments to shine – Donald Meek as the frightened local doctor; Ivan Simpson as the manor’s old butler and Leila Bennett as a rather hysterical maid. Movie mavens will spot an unbilled Christian Rub as a deaf peasant at the coroner’s inquest. The film’s editing sadly left several very fine character actors on the cutting room floor, including Robert Greig, Eily Maylon, Zeffie Tilbury & Jessie Ralph (whose name still appears in the credits).James Wong Howe’s excellent cinematography should be mentioned, as should also the creepy special effects which add immensely to the atmosphere. This movie will ship on one spool running approx. 60mins. The print is in good physical condition with little scratching and very few splices, BUT it is an horrendous dupe. Contrast is very poor, with facial features washed out and some scenes very dark. Similarly, the sound too is quite poor. Please bear this in mind when bidding.POSTAGE & PAYMENT: Within

This is a very good condition, 16mm black and white ORIGINAL PRINT.  Excellent contrast and sound quality.  There are some occasional black hairline scratches that come and go as well as some splices here and there.  Nothing significant though.  This was a former rental print, though it was not overly used and is in nice shape.  Uncut and no vinegar syndrome!
There are a lot of dupes and “reductions” out there on this title, but here’s a really fine looking original print of this legendary horror masterpiece!

Are you a true Elvis fan?Are you looking for a real unique remembrance of the King of Rock’n Roll? Are you also willing not only to open your wallet but also your piggy bank? Then you are in the right place.Elvis Fans: watch out! Here is the one time opportunity to purchase by eBay a once in a blue moon item for collectors. And I guarantee by the life of my children, for its absolute genuineness. What I am talking about is the original 16mm cutters tape by Dwight Hemion taken for the CBS spezial “Elvis in Concert”and the original audio tapes in German and English recorded for the movie. The recording took place on 19 June 1977 in Omaha,on 20June 1977 in Nebraska, and on 21June 1977 in Rapid City.Video material has been used.Running time appox.50minutes.In this movie it is claimed it was Elvis’ last concert in Indianapolis on 26June 1977.But there are no movies about the event in Indianapolis. In fact, the last pictures of Elvis in a concert are on this 16mm film, of the above mentioned concerts between 19June to 20June 1977.The director of this movie, Dwight Hemion, needed a 16mm copy for cutting of the video material.Since there was not adequate video cutting systems, he wanted a b/w 16mm copy as this was cheaper than a color copy.Back then this way was always used for expense reasons.Furthermore, a so-called time code is faded in the 16mm copy. which can clearly be seen on the pictures. The cutter needed this technology in order to where and when exactly to cut. This copy had been taken by the director and the cutter to be worked on.Using scissors they cut out redundant scenes and glued the rest together with scotch tape. Finally they marked  the material with wax crayons, in order to mark from which picture to the next the f-spot should go.Finishing this they had the working tape for the final video cut. After this, the special was shown only one time on US TV on 3 October 1977 since Elvis died only 2 months ago. Then the material disappeared in some archives because the Elvis Presley Enterprices wanted so.Maybe there exist some more or less worth bootlegs, but the originals are stashed away and might be still for a long time and will not be published. Now something about me:I was born in Bad Nauheim in 1959. Elvis lived there at the same time as an GI.And I am working in the film business since more than 25 years.I cleaned up my attic,so then many years ago I found the tape. And now I decided to offer it in an eBay auction to all true Elvis fans.I hope you understood everything I tried to write in this description. And I hope you know what kind of a unique collector’s item I am about to offer here.In case of any questions do not hesitate to contact me.By the way, I made a DVD and I will deliver same DVD to the lucky buyer in addition to the film,as I think not everyone has a 16mm projector at home. The pictures of the concert I took from the TV screen, the other pictures show the film material and the tapes. Here is the playlist:CC RiderThat’s alrightAre you lonesome tonightTeddy BearYou gave me a mountainJailhouse RockHow great thou areEarly morning rainI really don’t want to knowHurtHound DogMy WayAnd at the very end a statement by Vernon PresleyAs I am a private seller I take the right to refuse redemption.I guarantee the originality of the material as it has been described. On Jan-15-10 at 12:51:31 PST, seller added the following information:
