The rarity and importance of this beautiful collection can not beoverstated. At this time we know of NO other versions of any of thesepieces. We must emphasize, due to the fact that everything is unknownand to our knowledge never listed in any of the catalog raisonne, insteadresiding in our consignor’s personal collection, they have neverreceived the attention you would expect of other well known works. These pieces seems to be destined for an important collection or museumand hopefully one day recognized as historic masterpieces. Each artpiece could command MILLIONS of dollars with a complete provenancetracing it back to the artist. Our consignor has had everything in theirpossession for quite some time but everything was purchased as iswithout any provenance paperwork. Since we have not researchedany further, these attributed pieces being sold in the manner of andthey are being offered quite reasonably.
We feel the artwork above is valuable fine art but we are certainly notqualified to make judgements in regards to value, we had anexperienced Art Appraiser give us a conservative value of what they believe thiswould be priced “as is” at a typical local gallery. This well respected Certified Appraiser has a PHD in Art History and over 30 years of experience with Americanand European Artwork. Some of the pieces also have a 2nd appraisals and they seem to be less conservative with there values and the prices given are considered to bean insurance replacement value. We are including all paperwork with this lot.
In regards to original artwork… The pieces above may indeed be original, definitely not prints or reproductions of any kind and sometimes even have a proper signature of a famous artist, but it is not always easy to determine if a particular piece was executed by that artist. Please note that we do have any provenance paperwork on these pieces as they came from a private collection. This is why they are not in a major art gallery auction. The quality of these pieces is stunning, the appraisers felt the same way and all have been attributed to the respected artist. You would be hard pressed to find similar Museum quality pieces at a typically gallery, even if you were lucky enough to find one be prepared to pay many, many times the appraised values given. The only difference between what we are offering is we don’t have a complete provenance, maybe your a better researcher than us or have more time. All of these pieces have been appraised at least once. A few of them also have had a second appraisal done and every single piece comes with a COA from a well-known and well respected Art Historian / Art Consultant with over 30 years experience in Fine Art Appraisals.
REGARDING THE ART’S VALUE… most people know that all of these artists’ work have sold for Millions of dollars for just one quality piece, even pieces that are in their style or manner of get lots of attention. Certainly more research should be done, but they are fabulous pieces. We recommend that you be an well informed bidder, artwork is an area where expert knowledge is needed to make definitive judgments.
