Here is a scarce and hard to find Eli Lilly or Lilly advertising poison narcotic controlled substance amber medicine bottle that contained Cocaine. This bottle is EMPTY and more than likely dates to the teens. This bottle measures 2.75″ tall and 1″ wide. The condition of the label is nice but with some darkening of the white of the label but still clear and legible, nice for an item that is hard to find. You will be amazed at how quickly you can transform a tired silver plated object to one that looks as though you have just taken it out of the box.

To use this Silver Plating Solution is really easy.
1. To prepare the surface for plating, wash article well and dry with a clean cloth
2. Shake bottle thoroughly.
3. Apply liberally with a soft clean cloth or sponge for 10 – 15 seconds using a firm action.
The surface may blacken during the plating process
4. Buff gently to a brilliant pure silver shine.
5. Further applications may be needed for badly worn areas
6. Always use gloves when applying Silver Plating Solution and cover work surfaces to avoid staining.

Not suitable for use on Britannia Metal
A couple of tips when using the Silver Plating Solution 1. Make sure you give the bottle a really good shake before use 2. Don’t try to build up a heavy coating of silver all at once, wait a few minutes (5 – 10) to let each coat dry before adding another

Rare 19th C Iron Miners Candlestick Sticking Tommy

Rare 19th C Folding Miners CandlestickAs seen in some reference guides on the topic, this folding miners candlestick is a much rarer variation versus the standard straight-shafted sticking tommy. An ingenious design, the maker formed the piece to unfold when needed to have hammered into the wall of a mine shaft (the center area supporting a candle), and when not in use the piece would fold unto itself to not only be pocket sized, but keep the user from having the point end of the piece poke through their clothing. All hand forged, the piece has some nice subtle design qualities, note the small geometric pattern to the actual shaft as well as a folding closure tab that helped to sustain the piece in position. While overall the piece is in near fine condition with only some slight pitting from age, it is of note that the aforementioned closure tab has come off its copper rivet on the underside, not really from damage, but use. Again the closure tab functions freely and does not come off, the piece is a tad loose (just worth mentioning). A nice piece of mid/late 19th century Mining history up for a week with no reserve and a very low starting bid. Thanks for visiting Foxrun-Farms now in our 12th year on ebay!

Unusual Negretti & Zambra pocket barometer

This is a larger than usual aneroid pocket barometer made by Negretti & Zambra measuring just over 60mm in diameter not including the stem & pendant ring.
It has an aluminium dial which reads ‘Negretti &Zambra London’ and also has the famous intertwined N & Z logo.

The barometer is in good original condition and the case appears to be made from nickel plated brass or similar and is free from any dents or splits. The case back is engine turned with what appears to be a plain cartouche in the centre.

The dial is divided in inches of mercury from 26 to 31, and there is a rotating bezel enclosing a bevelled crystal, with a black arrow to act as a setting indicator. The milled crown on the top does rotate but is purely decorative and isn’t meant to perform any function.

It does pass the ‘plastic bag’ test with the needle reacting positively as it should, but the needle does show a certain amount of ‘creep’ when the glass is tapped, so it probably requires a service.
The barometer setting can be adjusted by means of an adjustment screw on the back, which I have tried and this does work.

I think it dates to the early part of the 20th century or possibly late 19th century.

A Famous Curta Calculator, Type I, No.50165, was made in 1962. It comes with an instruction booklet. The calculator has been tested and it’s working.It is in very good condition with slight sign of use on the base and handle. Someone has marked his name on the base. Look closely at the photos, you’ll see the ring of the clearing lever is broken. It doesn’t affect its work but you can easily glue it back on if you like. There is no canister.
