The Japanese believe that Marimo will bring good luck. Hence,
they grow it in a glass bottle with just some freshwater &
ceiling light. Place them in your home or office! It will bring

Marimo is a very popular plant in Japan. Currently protected by
the authorities to prevent extinction. The growth rate of Marimo
is about 5 mm /0.2 inch per year. Hence a nano marimo is about 3
years old!

Care for Marimo

Marimo grow in tap water at room temperature as long as the
water is changed every one or two weeks (more frequently in
summer and less often in winter). The marimo can be placed in
the refrigerator in hot weather (above 28°C/ 82F), but does not
survive freezing. Photosynthesis occurs in normal household
lighting, otherwise, indirect sunlight since the marimo is
adapted for low light conditions only. If the marimo green color
turns brownish it may recover without intervention, otherwise a
very minimal amount of salt can be added as a suggested remedy.
Slightly squeeze the marimo in clean water weekly. This plant
does NOT cause algae problem. Negligible maintenance required.

We ship the moss ball in small ziploc bag
with slight moisture. Please have no worries as the plant can
survive up to 30 days in mail. After you received the marimo,
some of them might be slightly out of shape. Place them into a
bottle of clean water and gently roll and squeeze them. Healthy
marimo should be green color with no foul smell. Just send us an
email for missing or dead marimo, we will reship you FREE of
Charge or issue a 100% refund for you.
