VERY UNUSUAL LADY’S HAND FAN / PARASOL

This is a very interesting ladies collapsible hand fan and small parasol all in one. The frame of the fan is made of hand carved ox bone with a nicely carved and turned shaft, brass hardware and pivot hinge with locking pin. The end finial forms a loop with a carved hand above holding a torch. There is a central looking glass / spy glass mirror on one side and on the other a beautifully carved bone button.  The stiff violet / purple paper fan collapses to basically nothing and folds right up. Leave it flat and use as a fan / face screen or pivot the top and use as a parasol. Has its original silk tassle.
It is in incredible possibly unused condition with no damage, repairs or breaks. Just the very slightest of tarnish to the mirror. Has a card box which has wear.
As stated it is in amazing condition…probably the best condition possible for an item of this age. The diameter is about 10.5″…
A really quirky unusual fan rarely seen and in this condition almost non-existent…offered at £0.99 NO RESERVE

SMALL OLD JAPANESE
SWORD WITH MARKED TANG

This offering is for a small
old Japanese Sword with it’s Original Scabbard. I recently purchased the sword from
an estate in southern Illinois and was told it had been brought home by a soldier in
WWII. I know very little about Japanese Swords and do not read Japanese so please
examine the photo’s below and ask any questions you may have prior to bidding. The
sword has some Japanese writing on the tang which I would assume are makers
markings. I’m not sure which way is up to read the writing so I have included an
image of it below from both angles. The blade has what appears to be some
decorative designs on the blade that may in fact be writing but I am not sure. The
blade has an overall length including the tang of app. 15 5/8″, the scabbard
measures almost exactly the same in overall length. The blade is in very nice
condition with a couple of small sports of surface corrision and a tiny tiny tiny nick or
two in the very edge of the blade. The scabbard looks like it may be some kind of
lacquer ware. The tip of the scabbard is missing and the carved loop on the one side
is broken. That’s about it. The sword displays great and should will make an excellent
addition to someone’s collection, shouldn’t it be yours!!! If any further assistance is
needed click the following link AmericasPride@charter.net and write
me with any questions you may have and I will respond ASAP.
